App Review [2]: Toontastic

Toontastic is an amazing app for children to create their own digital stories (storytelling). The app is very intuitive and easy-to-use. Parents and teachers can use this app in many different activities, like creating stories with horror themes, fiction, trip and etc.

The app has a logical structure, allowing to create a cartoon story made of different scenes like a Setup, Conflict, Challenge, Climax or a Resolution, to help children to build their story. It’s possible to create a different scene for every scenario, using scenes templates and pre-built characters or even using creativity to create new scenarios and characters.

As the scenes are being recorded, the story gains form. At the end of every scene, it’s possible to add a soundtrack according to the theme of the history, you can choose a happy song, a love song or even a horror one.

Toontastic is a powerful tool to explore children’s creativity, imagination, communication and social skills.

Recommended age: 6 – 9 years old (although it’s recommended for 9 years old, I’ve had much fun over there!).

Ps: Toontastic contains a Parent & Teacher Guide with tips about how to get the most of its resources.

Toontastic is available for iOS only.
